ALTIC – ALUMINUM TITANIUM CARBON ALLOY
AlTiC – Aluminum Titanium Carbon is a metal alloy supplied in the form of wire rod diam. 9.55 mm, used to activate grain refinement during solidification.
It is used in aluminum foundries for continuous casting of plates or billets and for shell, sand or low pressure foundries.
AlTiC – Aluminum Titanium Carbon represents an alternative to Aluminum Titanium Boron especially for those applications where the presence of TiB2 agglomerates is undesirable.
The wire rod must be added to the liquid aluminum alloy to refine the structure in the solidification phase. This operation must be carried out during casting in the case of continuous casting (billets or plates) or in the waiting transport furnace or ladle.
