MAGNESIL 214 – POWDERED FLUX FOR MAGNESIUM
In the casting technique of magnesium alloys, the elimination of impurities from the molten metal occurs by means of a mixture of salts. The latter has, in the molten state, such a degree of viscosity that it can be easily separated from the surface of the metal bath.
Following the absorption of the impurities, there is an increase in the specific weight of the mixture which causes it to precipitate to the bottom of the metal bath, taking with it what it has previously incorporated.
Magnesil 214 is a flux which, thanks to its viscosity, allows easy foaming and furthermore, after being vigorously mixed into the metal, absorbs all the impurities and drags them to the bottom of the crucible.
