METALCOTE 224 – CASTING LUBRICANT GREASE
Metalcote 224 is a dispersion of semicolloidal Aluminium and graphite in a medium viscosity lubricating grease. It is recommended for the protection and lubrication of the dies in semi continuous casting machines producing Aluminium billets and slabs. It is a good barrier against oxides on the surface of the ingot mold. Its action completely eliminates the phenomena of cold folds/cold shutts, vertical scratches/draggings and ingot anchoring/hung-up which are typical defects of the starting of soft alloys and especially of hard alloys.
