METALCOTE 28 – FINE GRAIN INSULATING COATING

Metalcote 28 is a fine grain dressing designed to be sprayed on the die face to help flowability of metal during filling of the die. The product is suitable for standard gravity dies of aluminium alloys.

The product has strong adhesivity and is widely used when large series of castings are produced. It helps directional solidification and slowing down cooling behaviour of the alloy.

The product is sensitive to frost. Store at temperatures above 5 ° C and close the pails after use. It is possible that some products containing mineral ingredients may tend to precipitate during storage. This phenomenon is absolutely normal due to the specific density of the minerals themselves. It is important to mix the product carefully before use. If stored properly the product has a shelf life exceeding 12 months.
