NEWCOTE AL 23 – MAIN COATING LAYER ON STEEL DIES

Newcote Al 23 is made for low pressure and gravity moulds. Newcote Al 23 contains insulating minerals and it is studied to resists to thermal shocks and abrasion deterioration during extended production cycles. Newcote Al 23 is used as main layer on steel dies and prevents erosion and metallisation in critical areas. It offers excellent chemical and physical stability and gives protection from liquid metal attack.

The red colour of the coating is an excellent indicator of the surface layer erosion. Ideal for small and medium dimension castings.

The product is sensitive to frost. Store at temperatures above 5 ° C and close the pails after use. It is possible that some products containing mineral ingredients may tend to precipitate during storage. This phenomenon is absolutely normal due to the specific density of the minerals themselves. It is important to mix the product carefully before use. If stored properly the product has a shelf life exceeding 12 months.
